With the support of multiple influential angel investors, CarbonEthics, an Indonesian startup creating technology-enabled natural climate solutions, has successfully concluded a US$2.1 million seed round of funding headed by Intudo Ventures.
Under the direction of CEO Bimo Soewadji, COO Innandya Kusumawardhani, and Chief Impact Officer Jessica Novia, CarbonEthics combines the environmental and business impacts to rebuild natural ecosystems, support companies in their decarbonization efforts, and generate new income streams.
To help them on their decarbonization path, CarbonEthics collaborates with a range of stakeholders, including state-owned businesses, non-governmental organizations, and private corporations. Additionally, it has formed strategic alliances on a global, national, and local scale with organizations like Transjakarta, Form International, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).

The Jakarta-based company has planted about 288,000 biotas, including mangroves, seagrasses, seaweeds, and corals, while also finishing pre-feasibility studies for carbon projects on over 4,200,000 hectares of land with a potential for more than 1 million tonnes of verified carbon units CO2e/year.
The comprehensive approach that CarbonEthics takes to nature-based carbon initiatives under the CCB (carbon, community, and biodiversity) metrics is one of its standout characteristics. Its initiatives are made to produce quantifiable results in the three categories other than carbon.
The climate tech company uses nature-based solutions to reach Southeast Asia, which is expected to offer around 30% of the world’s carbon offset supply by 2030.
