Through this collaboration, EFOA and UAEU hope to strengthen family offices’ role as key contributors to the UAE’s economic future while motivating and preparing the country’s future leaders to carry on this tradition. This collaboration expands upon the framework established by UAEU’s College of Business & Economics’ webinar, “Family Business as Value Creators,” held last month.

Along with the internship program, EFOA and UAEU will work together to research the region’s rapidly growing family office industry. Finding new patterns and the causes of the industry’s explosive expansion—which has seen family offices take on a more significant position in global wealth management—will be the main goals of the study.

Aisha Al Mansoori expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration: “A core tenet of EFOA is promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration in the region’s family offices and business ecosystems. We are excited to partner with UAEU to enhance our work in this area. Educating the next generations on the role and importance of family offices and businesses is essential to the ecosystem’s success and the UAE.”

Professor Mohamed Madi, Dean of UAEU’s College of Business and Economics, echoed this sentiment, highlighting family offices’ significant global role, overseeing trillions of dollars across around 10,000 offices. “The UAEU College of Business and Economics is delighted with the opportunity to collaborate with the Emirates Family Office Association (EFOA), a premier resource for family offices and family businesses in the UAE, and their stakeholders,” he stated. “Our faculty is keen to collaborate with EFOA in researching the challenges and opportunities in this important sector of the UAE economy.”

A collaborative relationship to develop the next generation of family office executives has begun. Initiatives to inform students about the crucial role family offices and family-owned businesses play in the UAE economy will be led by the partnership.
