Visa, a world leader in digital payments, and facilitating transactions has appointed Rishi Chhabra as its new country manager for India.

Chhabra’s new role will include overseeing the India business, managing senior client relationships, and leading and executing the firm’s market strategic initiatives.

As country manager, he and his team will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams from India and Asia Pacific to advance the company’s India agenda. Chhabra will report to Sandeep Ghosh, the group’s country manager for the India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan markets.
Chhabra, who joined Visa in 2023 as Vice President and Head of Merchant Services and Acquisition for India and South Asia, was instrumental in driving the company’s key merchant, acquirer, and cobrand relationships. His experience in financial services and payments spans more than two decades in the United States, India, and Sri Lanka.

Before joining Visa, he was Fiserv’s country head for India and Sri Lanka. He has previously held leadership positions at First Data and PayPal and worked for JP Morgan, ABN AMRO, and General Electric.
