Indonesia-based PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo) Announce Collaboration With Google Maps

PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk , Indonesia’s leading digital ecosystem, today announced a strategic collaboration between Gojek, the on-demand services unit of GoTo Group, and Google Maps, which will significantly improve the mapping experience for consumers, driver partners, and merchants in the Gojek ecosystem.

This collaboration combines two powerful forces: Gojek’s real-time field data and Google Maps’ advanced geospatial technology. Building on its long-standing collaboration with Google Maps Platform, this collaboration will enable GoTo to optimize navigation, reduce delivery time, and make micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) merchants on the Gojek app easier to find online.

Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, President of On Demand Services GoTo Group (Gojek) said, “At GoTo, we believe that collaboration with global technology players like Google is key to driving innovation that benefits our consumers, driver partners, and merchant partners. As a proud local company, we understand the needs of the Indonesian people very well. By combining Gojek’s real-time field data with Google Maps’ cutting-edge geospatial technology, we will deliver a superior mapping experience that improves efficiency and accessibility for millions of users across Indonesia.”

Yael Maguire, VP, GM, Google Maps Platform, Google said, “Our collaboration with GoTo will help ensure that millions of people in Indonesia have access to up-to-date and factual information about the world through Google Maps and GoTo’s on-demand services.”

Optimizing Delivery Efficiency and Last-Mile Experience

As a company that serves millions of consumers every day, Gojek generates a wealth of important real-time data, providing deep insights into mobility patterns and road conditions. Leveraging this data, Gojek continues to refine its navigation system to create a smoother and more efficient experience for driver-partners and consumers.

By integrating these capabilities with Google Maps’ advanced geospatial technology such as real-time traffic analysis, this collaboration will optimize routes more intelligently to reduce delivery times and increase efficiency. In addition, the two companies will work together to improve the destination selection, searchability, and pickup/drop-off experiences to make travel smoother and more intuitive for both users and driver-partners.

Empowering MSMEs with Better Digital Visibility

As part of its efforts to increase the visibility of MSME merchant partners through Google Maps and Google Business profiles, Google will collaborate with GoFood to educate and encourage merchant partners to join Google Business Profiles.

This will ensure a more accurate address list and better visibility for merchant partners, thereby strengthening the digital footprint of small businesses in Indonesia. By making it easier for consumers to find and order from GoFood merchant partners, this initiative strengthens GoTo’s ongoing support for MSMEs.

As the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesia, GoTo continues to expand its expertise through strategic collaborations that improve efficiency, empower MSMEs, and drive business growth. The collaboration between Gojek and Google Maps builds on ongoing efforts to innovate across the business where both leverage technology to scale, optimize operations, and transform our services for the better, while providing greater value to the business community and users.
