TVS Motor Company has announced that Sudarshan Venu will become the new Chairman and Managing Director starting August 25, 2025. The Board chose him for the position, saying he has shown strong leadership and played an important part in the company’s growth and planning as a Director.
Commenting on the appointment, Venu said, “I am very thankful to the Board for giving me this singular opportunity. I am really honoured and excited for the future and look forward to their continued support. TVS has been built on our Chairman Emeritus’s commitment to customer centricity, quality and technology. As we look to the future we have to build on these values while capitalising on new opportunities and reimagining for the future. I am most grateful to him for his continued guidance.”
Venu said that the current Chairman, Sir Ralf Speth, has been a big help in guiding the company’s global growth. He also said he’s looking forward to learning more from his guidance.
“Sir Ralf has been instrumental in challenging and mentoring us to expand more globally, onboard international talent, embrace newer processes, and invest in future products and technology. I look forward to his continued mentorship as our Chief Mentor. Importantly, TVS has grown due to the passion and energy of the entire team. I look forward to the continued partnership in our shared future,” he said.
As Sir Ralf Speth steps down, Sudarshan Venu will take over the leadership of TVS Motor. He plans to grow the brand worldwide, invest in new technologies, and build stronger relationships with customers.
With him as the leader, the company wants to stick to its core values while working to become a global leader in transportation and mobility.
Ralf Speth has told the Board that he doesn’t plan to continue as a Director after the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). So, he will step down as Chairman at the end of the AGM on August 22, 2025.
From August 23, 2025, the Board will appoint Ralf Speth as the Chief Mentor of the company for three years.
