Oben Electric Completes INR 100 Crore Series A Funding Round

Oben Electric, a company that makes electric motorcycles, has raised an extra INR 50 crore (about $6 million) in an extended Series A funding round.

This brings its total Series A funding to INR 100 crore ($12 million) and the total amount of money raised by the company so far to INR 200 crore ($24 million).

In May 2025, Oben Electric raised more funds with support from Helios Holdings, the Sharda family office, the Kay family, and some of its existing investors.

The money raised will help Oben Electric expand its reach by opening over 150 showrooms in 50 cities across India by FY26. It will also be used to increase production at its current Bengaluru factory.

Additionally, Oben plans to invest in new product development through its ‘O100’ platform, which focuses on building affordable electric motorcycles priced under Rs 1 lakh.

Oben Electric was started in 2020 by Madhumita Agrawal, Sagar Thakkar, and Dinkar Agrawal. The company makes electric motorcycles and also builds important parts like batteries, motors, control units, and fast chargers for home use.

“The extended Series A funding is a strong vote of confidence from our investors and comes at a time when our momentum is accelerating nationwide,” said Madhumita Agrawal.

After raising its first $6 million Series A in January, Oben Electric says it has grown quickly, now having 37 retail outlets in 26 cities across 13 states.

The company designs and builds its electric motorcycles and all the key parts—including LFP batteries, motors, and vehicle control units—all in-house.

Oben Electric’s factory in Jigani, Bengaluru, can produce up to 100,000 electric motorcycles per year. A network of over 150 suppliers supports the plant.

The company competes with other startups like Tork Motors and big brands moving into the electric bike market. But Oben stands out by making everything in-house, holding over 25 patents, and focusing on research and innovation to design its products.
