TNG Digital Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia’s biggest fintech company, has launched the TNG Digital Business Account.
This new account is made to help small businesses, freelancers, and gig workers manage their money, grow their business, and go digital — all from their mobile phones and with no complicated setup.
It’s a big step toward giving more people in Malaysia, especially those in smaller or informal businesses, easier access to digital financial tools.
The TNG Digital Business Account is a fully digital eWallet created by TNG Digital and is regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia.
The TNG Digital Business Account has no fees, no paperwork, and no minimum balance required. It’s designed for all kinds of small businesses — including SMEs, micro SMEs (MSMEs), street vendors, informal shops, and gig workers — who often have trouble accessing traditional financial services.
“TNG Digital Business Account was built to address a clear gap. Although micro and small businesses contribute nearly 40 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) and support almost half of the nation’s workforce, many still lack access to tools that help them scale and operate efficiently in a digital economy,
“This solution enables them to accept payment, manage transactions and grow their businesses efficiently through their mobile phones,” said Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital.
He said that for a long time, many small businesses have had to manage their finances without the proper tools, making it harder for them to do so efficiently.
“With the TNG Digital Business Account, we’re changing that by removing the barriers and allowing SMEs to open an account instantly, receive funds in real-time, and make transfers seamlessly across banks and eWallets, all within a secure and inclusive ecosystem, at zero cost,
“It’s about making everyday business simpler so they can focus on growing,” he added.
He mentioned that the company is proud to have support from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, whose leadership is helping speed up the use of digital tools by small traders, especially in rural areas, through programs like the Retail Digitalization Initiative.
“The launch of the Business Account by TNG Digital today is a new product that will add value to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) community in our country,
“What we are witnessing is an important step towards creating a more accessible system, especially for those who have previously been left out of the benefits of digital services,” said Dr Hajah Fuziah Binti Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
She said that programs like this aren’t just about using technology but also about making sure everyone has the chance to join and benefit from the growing digital economy.
The TNG Digital Business Account does more than just handle payments. It also gives merchants tools to help their businesses grow.
With over 23 million users on the TNG eWallet platform, merchants can increase their visibility using features like “Near Me” and engage customers with cashback and voucher campaigns like GOyangGOyang.
The account also has built-in safety features, including a special PIN, a kill switch, and 24/7 fraud protection.
Looking ahead, TNG Digital plans to expand this service to include micro-loans, savings, and insurance options designed specifically for small businesses.
