GoKwik Secures $13 Million Growth funding Round Led by RTP Global

GoKwik, a leading e-commerce enabler in Asia, has raised $13 million in a growth funding round, with RTP Global—an existing investor—leading the round.

Other investors, such as Z47, Peak XV Partners, and Think Investments, also took part in the funding round.

With this new funding, GoKwik plans to expand faster into international markets, especially the UK and Europe.

They will offer their WhatsApp Business tool to direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands to help them grow through chat-based shopping. The company also plans to hire local talent and keep improving its existing services.

“It’s an interesting time to build an eCommerce brand in the UK— with eCommerce’s share of total retail in the country set to hit 38% this year. With over 86% of UK adults using WhatsApp as their communication channel, the opportunities are endless to engage, convert, and retain them on the platform. But while usage is high, most brands haven’t unlocked WhatsApp’s true potential in their growth journey. That’s what we are set out to solve for. With the funds, we’ll focus on helping more UK DTC brands become WhatsApp-native, embedding it across acquisition, retention, and support and beyond to enable them to build lasting connections with their shoppers.” Said Abhishek Chandra, Chief Revenue Officer, GoKwik.

GoKwik was founded in 2020 by Chirag Taneja. The company helps online brands increase sales, reduce product returns, and connect better with customers.

Its easy-to-use tools include KwikCheckout (with return protection), KwikEngage (for shopping through WhatsApp), KwikPass (one-click login), and Return Prime (for handling returns).

GoKwik earns money based on the results it delivers, like the sales it helps make or the value it adds. This makes it a trusted partner for direct-to-consumer (D2C) and e-commerce brands.

Its WhatsApp shopping tool, KwikEngage, is becoming popular in international markets, especially in the UK.

So far, GoKwik has worked with over 12,000 brands and helped more than 130 million shoppers buy products through its tools. The total sales made using GoKwik’s services have passed $3 billion.
