Foodpanda and Heydoc Health Launch Malaysia’s First Outpatient Care Pilot for Gig Workers

Foodpanda Malaysia has partnered with digital health company Heydoc Health to launch Malaysia’s first pilot program for outpatient care, specially for gig workers.

The duo announced in a statement last Wednesday about the official launch of futureK, a pioneering outpatient care pilot program launched for foodpanda delivery partners and their families.

“This is not just a healthcare plan. It is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the people who keep foodpanda moving,

“Our delivery partners are the heartbeat of our platform, braving all conditions to serve millions of Malaysians daily,” said Shubham Saran, Operations Director of foodpanda Malaysia.

“Although they are freelancers, we are focused on supporting their well-being in meaningful ways, through our pandahearts initiative,

“With Future K, we are taking a bold step forward by offering a healthcare solution that is accessible, affordable, and inclusive as a testament to what we can achieve when innovation meets empathy,” he added.

To create a healthcare solution that truly meets the needs of delivery riders, Foodpanda and Heydoc Health are starting a three-month pilot program. During this time, they will gather data and feedback from riders to improve the service before launching it across the country.

Besides outpatient care, the program will also offer online health education. These lessons will cover how to prevent illness, manage long-term health problems, and take care of mental health. The goal is to help gig workers stay healthy, informed, and strong.

The program uses Heydoc Health’s strong digital system, called futureK, which includes AI, blockchain, and smart tools for managing medicine. These technologies help keep outpatient care affordable, efficient, and focused on preventing health issues early.

Malaysia’s gig economy is growing fast and is expected to add billions to the country’s economy, making healthcare support for gig workers more important than ever.

Many gig workers still lack access to affordable and user-friendly healthcare options.

To address this issue, FutureK is introducing a new fixed-fee plan. This model combines a set monthly fee with digital-first healthcare services. It provides delivery riders with simple, reliable access to care, featuring clear costs and enhanced support helping them feel more secure.

“Heydoc Health was founded on the belief that technology should close the healthcare access gap, not widen it,

“FutureK introduces a new model of outpatient care that is accessible, cost-effective, and aligned with how people live and work today,” said Dr. Raymond Choy, Founder and CEO of Heydoc Health.

According to him, Foodpanda’s role in launching this pilot reflects a thoughtful, people-first approach to supporting the freelance community.

“It shows that when business leaders prioritize the right focus areas, innovation flourishes,

“We are proud to walk this path with foodpanda and hope to inspire more organizations to follow suit,” he added.
