
EdgeCortix, a fabless semiconductor company based in Tokyo, has announced the first close of its Series B funding round.
With this investment, the company’s total funding, including recent government project awards, has reached nearly $100 million.
The Series B round saw participation from Yanmar Ventures, Pacific Bays Capital, and NTT Finance Corporation.
The company plans to use the funds to accelerate its growth, attract new customers, and enhance product development.
EdgeCortix was founded and is led by Dr. Sakyasingha Dasgupta (Founder & CEO). The company builds silicon-based, energy-efficient AI processors that are specially designed for Generative AI workloads at the edge.
Its technology uses a patented hardware-software co-design method, which makes the processors highly efficient and able to reconfigure at runtime.
These AI accelerators deliver industry-leading performance-per-watt for edge inference, with applications in defense, aerospace, smart cities, Industry 4.0, robotics, and telecommunications.
EdgeCortix has offices in the United States and India.
