StashAway Malaysia Launches Shariah-Compliant Global Portfolios

StashAway, a digital wealth management platform based in Malaysia, has launched its Shariah-compliant global investment portfolios.

StashAway said in a statement on Wednesday that these Shariah-compliant diversified portfolios have delivered back-tested returns of up to 14.4 percent annually over the past five years.

These global portfolios are designed to meet Malaysia’s growing demand for Shariah-compliant investments while still offering strong, risk-adjusted returns.

Over the past five years, they have shown annual returns of 7.3% to 14%, making them competitive with regular investment options. Built using low-cost Shariah-compliant exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that are liquid and reliable, the portfolios give clients efficient and effective investment execution.

“We are proud to offer a solution that empowers more Malaysians to grow their wealth with their Shariah-compliant values,

“With our Shariah Global Portfolios delivering competitive double-digit returns, investors can access global growth opportunities while staying aligned to Islamic principles,” said Wong Wai Ken, Country Manager, StashAway Malaysia.

“We believe that the global exposure of our Shariah-compliant offerings is highly complementary to Malaysians’ core investments such as Amanah Saham Bumiputera and retirement-focused Employee Provident Fund which provide primarily domestic exposure,” he added.

StashAway’s new offering gives investors four risk options, ranging from moderate to very aggressive, so they can choose what suits them best.

The portfolios are globally diversified and use ETFs to give exposure to global stocks, US stocks, emerging market stocks, global Sukuk, and gold. This helps reduce the risk of being too dependent on any single asset.

Investors can also use these ETFs to create their own Flexible Portfolios, which include the above assets along with Silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereum ETFs.

All Shariah-compliant portfolios are reviewed and certified by Masryef Advisory, a firm registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). Regular checks ensure the investments continue to follow Islamic principles, giving investors confidence.

“Our partnership with StashAway reflects our shared commitment to enabling ethical, faith-aligned investing,” said Khairil Anuar, Principal, Masryef Advisory.

“Every ETF in the Shariah Global Portfolios has been rigorously screened and vetted based on globally recognized Shariah screening methodology,

“Investors can have confidence that their portfolios remain Shariah-compliant,” he added.

According to the statement, this launch comes at a time when Malaysia’s Islamic finance sector continues to expand, with increasing investor appetite for Shariah-compliant investment products that deliver competitive returns.

StashAway’s solution provides access to global markets which previously has proven difficult for individual investors to access cost-effectively.
