VinFast to Launch Electric Buses in Europe

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast will showcase its electric buses for the first time at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels, Belgium, this October.

The firm said in a statement on Tuesday that by adding its advanced, smart buses to its European offerings, VinFast is asserting its position as an all-electric vehicle manufacturer with one of the most comprehensive and wide-ranging e-mobility ecosystems.

VinFast is launching its electric buses to support Europe’s green transition and expand zero-emission public transport.

At Busworld Europe 2025, the company will showcase two models—the EB 8 and EB 12. Both are built to meet EU standards, with the EB 12 fully certified under UNECE and CE regulations. It is specially designed for Europe, considering local rules, infrastructure, bus size, range, and charging needs to fit smoothly into the market.

The EB 8 and EB 12 use LFP battery packs from leading suppliers like CATL and Gotion, with capacities of up to 422 kWh and a real-world range of up to 400 km. They also support fast charging at up to 140 kW, allowing a full recharge in just 2–3 hours.

VinFast said it will also reveal its strategy for entering the European public transport market, which is aligned with the roll out of its electric-sports utility vehicles (e-SUVs): centered on the formation of strategic partnerships with leading specialists and suppliers in Europe’s transport and infrastructure sectors, to ensure a strong and sustainable presence for VinFast electric bus across the continent.

As a proven public e-mobility solution, the VinFast electric bus line has been operating reliably in Vietnam for four years, serving as a cornerstone of the country’s first-ever electric bus network, said the statement.

In Vietnam, VinFast said it has established a fully operational electric bus ecosystem, producing, deploying, and maintaining fleets that power public transit in major cities.

VinFast can produce 1,500–2,000 electric buses each year, with all manufacturing processes meeting CE standards.

The company said its goals are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and Europe’s green transition targets: cutting emissions by 43% by 2030, making 90% of new buses zero-emission by 2030, and reaching 100% by 2035.

“Europe shares VinFast’s vision of a green and sustainable future and the launch of our VinFast electric bus models at Busworld is a strong statement of VinFast’s long-term commitment to the region,” said Le Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of VinFast.

“Beyond individual electric cars, we are building a comprehensive green transformation ecosystem to make electrified transport more accessible than ever,

“With an increasingly diverse product range, we are confident we can contribute to creating a zero-emission transport system and a cleaner, greener life for Europeans,” she added.

In Europe, VinFast is already present with its VF 6 (B-segment) and VF 8 (D-segment) electric SUVs, backed by customer-friendly sales and after-sales services.

Now, expanding into electric buses is a key part of VinFast’s long-term plan for Europe. By introducing its advanced bus technology, the company is showing both its strong production capabilities and its commitment to building smart, green and sustainable cities around the world.

This initiative is a vital component of the company’s mission to make e-mobility accessible to everyone, said the statement.
