Amwoodo Secures $4 Million Pre-Series A Funding to Expand Online Business

Sustainable solutions startup Amwoodo has raised $4 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by its existing investor Rainmatter.

Other investors in the round include Adventz Group, Thinkuvate, and Caspian.

The startup plans to use the funds to increase production for growing demand at home and abroad, expand its D2C marketplace Ecoconscious, and launch new brands that offer alternatives to plastic.

Before this round, Amwoodo had already raised $1 million from Rainmatter.

“It is a shared commitment to rewriting the story of sustainability—where innovation replaces waste, communities thrive and every product leaves the planet better than we found it. With this support we are not just scaling a business; we are fueling a movement to make eco-conscious living the norm not the exception. We’re leading from the ground up – listening, learning, and building with the community. Because change starts where the roots are,” said Agni Mitra, Founder & CEO of Amwoodo.

“At Amwoodo, we have always believed that sustainability is not a trend—it’s a responsibility. This funding is a testament to the collective effort of our passionate team, the trust of our partners and the unwavering support of our customers. Together, we prove that businesses can drive both profit and purpose and we are ready to take the next big leap toward making eco conscious living the global standard,” said Subhrakanti Das, Chief of Staff of Amwoodo.

Amwoodo was founded in 2019 by Subhrakanti Das, Agni Mitra, and Avijit Rajak.

The startup focuses on creating bamboo-first products that replace single-use plastics, offering solutions that are both sustainable and convenient.

The startup has formed B2B partnerships with companies such as Himalaya Wellness, Bombay Shaving Company, and ITC Hotels. It is also expanding its Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) business through its marketplace, Ecoconscious.
