Vast Data, a fast-growing AI infrastructure company started by Israeli entrepreneurs Renen Hallak and Shachar Fienblit, has partnered with Shonfeld Data Services (SDS) to build what is being called Israel’s most advanced AI infrastructure for the country.
SDS, which controls over 70% of Israel’s colocation market, is creating a large-scale AI cloud system to serve both Israeli and global companies.
This system will use Vast’s AI Operating System, a technology that brings together data management, computing, and AI model deployment on a massive scale.
The project plans to include thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and many petabytes of data storage powered by Vast.
Once completed, it will be one of the largest AI infrastructure projects ever built in Israel.
“AI will define Israel’s next chapter as a technology leader, and AI infrastructure is the next frontier for Israel’s digital economy,” said Danny Bilitski, general manager of SDS. “The AI market is set to be exponentially larger than the cybersecurity market was before it, and SDS is at the forefront of ensuring Israel’s position as a global AI powerhouse.”
Vast Data, founded in 2016, has grown quietly into one of the most valuable AI infrastructure startups in the world.
In August, it was reported that the company is raising several billion dollars in a funding round led by Nvidia and Alphabet’s growth fund, CapitalG, with a valuation of up to $30 billion.

The company has exceeded $200 million in annual recurring revenue this year and is expected to triple that amount by 2026.
