Home care brand Happi Planet has raised INR 18 crore ($2 million) in a new funding round from Fireside Ventures (its existing investor) and Prath Ventures (a new investor).
The company plans to use the funds to launch new home care products, hire more team members, and grow its brand presence.
“A lot of home care is dominated by multinational companies (MNCs),” said, cofounder Nimeet Dhokai. “Large MNCs bring innovation but don’t focus on solving Indian problems, which we’re trying to. For instance, copper, bronze, and brass cleaners are essential here since they’re used more in India.”
“Home hygiene is a massive but under-innovated category — ripe for reimagination,” said Harmanpreet Singh, managing partner, Prath Ventures.
Ankur Khaitan, principal at Fireside Ventures, an early-backer of Happi Planet, said, “…we are thrilled to deepen our partnership as they scale a category-defining brand in home care.”
Happi Planet, based in Mumbai, was founded in 2023 by Dhokai and Mayank Gupta. The company makes home care products such as laundry detergents, kitchen cleaners, and surface cleaners.
The company says its products are made with plant-based ingredients, making them safe for people and the environment. They are sold on popular online platforms and the company’s own website, which brings in about 80% of total sales.
According to Dhokai, the company’s revenue has grown 15 times in the past year, and the average order value is between ₹700 and ₹1,000.
