Israeli unicorn BigPanda is buying Velocity, a company that focuses on system reliability management and helps response teams handle major incidents.
BigPanda has raised approximately $340 million through multiple funding rounds, with its latest valuation around $1.2 billion. Its investors include Advent International, Insight Partners, Battery Ventures, Sequoia, Greenfield Partners, and more.
BigPanda automates operations in enterprise IT systems, helping companies predict and stop problems before they reach customers. Buying Velocity strengthens this ability, as Velocity’s technology and customer-focused approach fit well with BigPanda’s goals.
The deal comes at a time when companies around the world are moving from reactive, manual operations to proactive, AI-powered automation to cut costs and free employees from repetitive work.
Velocity was founded in late 2020 by CEO Tal Kain and CTO Kobi Meirson, who met while serving in Israel’s Unit 8200. Meirson left the company in 2022.
As part of the acquisition, Tal Kain will join BigPanda as Vice President of AI Detection and Response.
Kain brings decades of experience in managing technical teams and building AI systems in complex environments. Before founding Velocity, he held senior roles at several startups that were acquired by Oracle, Verint, and PSG.
“BigPanda is defining what Agentic IT Operations looks like in the enterprise, and our customers are already realizing powerful and measurable outcomes,” said Assaf Resnick, CEO and co-founder of BigPanda. “With Velocity, we’re accelerating that vision with world-class talent, proven technology, and shared belief in how agentic AI will redefine IT Operations.”
