Pee Safe secures $32 million in round led by OrbiMed

Pee Safe, a women’s hygiene and wellness brand, has raised $32 million in a funding round led by OrbiMed, a global healthcare-focused investment firm.

The round included both new investment into the company and share sales by some early investors.

The company will use the funds to expand its offline retail stores, improve its marketing activities, and increase its presence on quick commerce platforms and online marketplaces.

“Pee Safe was founded to address a deeply underserved women’s health category and challenge long-standing taboos,” said Vikas Bagaria, founder, Pee Safe.

“This investment enables us to significantly deepen our offline distribution while also accelerating momentum across quick commerce and ecommerce, allowing us to reach more consumers at scale,” said cofounder Rithish Kumar.

Sunny Sharma, senior managing director, OrbiMed said, “Pee Safe has built a differentiated brand with consumer loyalty in large categories.” Sharma and Sumona Chakraborty of OrbiMed have also joined the company’s board.

Pee Safe was founded in 2013 by Vikas Bagaria and his wife Srijana. It started with just one product and later grew into a personal hygiene and FMCG brand. Rithish Kumar, one of the early team members, was later made a cofounder.

Today, Pee Safe offers products in toilet hygiene, feminine and intimate care, personal care, grooming, and wellness. The brand is available in over 50,000 offline stores across more than 100 cities and exports to 23 countries.

The company says it has an annual revenue run rate of over Rs 150 crore and is profitable. Before this latest funding, Pee Safe had raised a total of $16.5 million, with its last funding round of $3 million in 2023.
