OpenCX raises $7 million in seed round led by Y Combinator

OpenCX, an AI-based platform that helps businesses communicate with their customers, has raised $7 million in a funding round. The round was led by Y Combinator (investing for the second time) and X by Unifonic, with support from Shorooq, a top Abu Dhabi investment firm, and Sadu Capital.

The new funds will help OpenCX grow faster as more companies look for ways to handle complex, high-volume customer interactions across voice, chat, email, and messaging. The company plans to improve its platform and expand its reach to more enterprise customers worldwide.

OpenCX is also preparing to expand in the Gulf region, starting with Saudi Arabia, where it will open a regional office in the coming months. This is part of the company’s larger strategy to grow across the GCC countries.

“Enterprises today aren’t struggling with customer support volume alone—they’re struggling with complexity,” said Mohammad Gharbat, CEO and co-founder of OpenCX. “Our focus has always been on helping organisations scale confidently, without customer communication becoming a limiting factor. OpenCX is built to operate where the stakes are high, the workflows are complex, and trust matters.”

“Enterprises across the region are facing unprecedented scale and complexity in how they engage with customers,” said Tina Daher, Principal at Shorooq. “OpenCX is building infrastructure-grade AI that enables organisations to grow without customer communication becoming a constraint. This is exactly the kind of foundational technology we look to back.”

OpenCX was founded by Mohammad Gharbat and Mohammad Tabaza. The company was created to solve a big problem for large, regulated organizations: managing customer support is very important but challenging to scale without losing quality or control.

OpenCX uses an AI engine to automate more than 70% of customer communication. This includes support, phone calls, inbound messages, and outbound messages. This helps companies handle large volumes of customer interactions while staying fast, responsive, and empathetic.

OpenCX started as an open-source project that was used by tens of thousands of developers. Over time, it became a commercial platform focused on helping big companies manage customer communication at scale.

Now, OpenCX is positioning itself as a core system for organizations that want to modernize customer engagement. Its AI-driven approach helps companies stay competitive in today’s fast-changing digital economy.
