VinFast has officially entered Indonesia’s electric scooter market after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with strategic dealers in the country.
This move is an important step in VinFast’s global expansion of its electric two-wheeler business and shows the company’s long-term commitment to Indonesia, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and fastest-growing motorcycle markets.
VinFast has signed strategic agreements with its first group of partners in Indonesia. These include K3, Citra Abadi Sedaya, PT Bevos Auto Mandiri, PT Sapta Jaya, MotorArt, PT Sinergies Dua Kawan, and PT HINU. These partners have strong experience in selling cars and motorcycles, understand the local market well, and can quickly set up operations that meet VinFast’s standards.
VinFast plans to start building its distribution network in the Jabodetabek region—Indonesia’s largest business and urban area—from the second quarter of 2026. After that, the company will expand to other parts of the country.
In Indonesia, VinFast will launch a range of battery-swapping electric scooters, including VinFast Evo, Feliz II, Flazz, and Viper, with more models planned later. These scooters are designed to work well in Indonesia’s hot climate, heavy traffic, and daily commuting needs.
During 2026, VinFast aims to grow to hundreds of authorized dealerships and service centers across Indonesia. Its plan is to build a complete ecosystem that includes sales, after-sales service, financing options, and charging and battery-swapping infrastructure, working closely with V-Green and leading financial institutions.
Earlier, VinFast announced plans to expand its electric two-wheeler business internationally and signed dealer agreements in the Philippines. In 2026, the company plans to expand into five key markets—the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia—where demand for urban mobility is high and the shift toward clean and sustainable transportation is growing.
Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, stated: “Indonesia is a strategic market in VinFast’s global e-scooter expansion journey. Partnering with leading local dealers underscores our partners’ confidence in VinFast’s product quality, service standards, flexible battery-swapping model, and long-term vision. We are committed to accompanying Indonesian consumers on their transition toward a greener, smarter, and more sustainable future of mobility.”
Indonesia is one of the largest motorcycle markets in the world, driven by fast urban growth, crowded cities, and rising support from both the government and consumers for eco-friendly transport. These factors create strong opportunities for the electric scooter market to grow.
Local dealers in Indonesia have shown strong confidence in VinFast’s long-term future in the country. They point to VinFast’s complete green mobility ecosystem, large manufacturing scale, and its track record of expanding quickly in multiple international markets as key strengths.
