Aonic, a Malaysia-founded drone technology company operating across Southeast Asia, has raised $10 million in Series A funding round led by Kairous Capital.
The investment will help Aonic expand both in the region and internationally, boost its research and development, and grow production of its Malaysia-made drones, software, and services.
“Aonic is scaling a proven system,” said Cheong Jin Xi, Founder and CEO of Aonic, in a statement on Wednesday. “We’ve spent years building the engineering, manufacturing, and operational foundations to support real-world, field- ready operations. This funding enables us to expand globally with the same level of consistency and reliability we’ve achieved in Southeast Asia.”
“We have been searching for transformative food and agri-technology for a long time and Aonic is a rare Malaysia-based company that can deliver across Southeast Asia at scale,” said Adrian Hia, Partner at Kairous Capital. The team pairs deep technical capability with exceptional execution and financial discipline, bringing measurable outcomes for farmers.”
Aonic offers complete drone solutions to modernize agriculture and industry in Southeast Asia, tackling challenges like labor-intensive and risky manual work.
By replacing manual spraying, Aonic helps farmers work more efficiently and increase crop yields. Internal data from participating farms shows that its agricultural drones can boost farmers’ income by 50%, increase farm output by about 54%, and reduce water use for spraying by around 75% compared to traditional methods.
To support this, Aonic has built a fully integrated ecosystem. It designs, engineers, and manufactures its drones and software in-house, giving full control over performance, costs, and product development.
The ecosystem also helps farmers through training, drone financing, and access to agricultural inputs, making it easier to adopt the technology and achieve sustainable, scalable impact.
With over 50 3S centers (Sales, Service, Spare Parts) across Southeast Asia, Aonic ensures strong after-sales support and on-the-ground assistance long after the drones are deployed.
