Zoomies has raised INR 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by D2C Insider Super Angels.
The round also included well-known founders and operators such as Pallavi Mohadikar, Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini, and Puneet Gupta, along with others.
The company will use the funds to improve its manufacturing and supply chain systems to make operations smoother and more efficient.
Zoomies will also focus on growing its brand through influencer marketing, developing new products, and expanding its reach, especially through fast delivery platforms.
“ As the lead investor backing Zoomies, I’m thrilled by their seasoned, passionate team with a deep focus on execution. In a pet nutrition category screaming for innovation, they’re poised to scale clean-label solutions that redefine D2C for pet parents in India,” said Chhavi Bhardwaj Kargaonkar, Partner D2C Insider Super Angels.
Sumedh Battewar, Co-founder & CEO, Zoomies, said, “For years, better pet nutrition in India has been positioned as either niche or premium. We believe that’s a false choice. With Zoomies, we’re proving that clean, meat-led nutrition can be shelf-stable, scalable, and price-competitive, and the market is finally ready for that shift.”
Spriha Choubey, Co-founder, Zoomies, added, “As pet parents ourselves, we experienced the gap between what we wanted to feed our pets and what the market offered. Zoomies was born from that frustration, and the realisation that the demand for better-quality food is shared across the pet parent community.”
Zoomies was founded in September 2025 by Sumedh Battewar and Spriha Choubey in Pune. The company aims to solve key problems in the pet food industry.
Zoomies focuses on providing clean, transparent, and affordable pet nutrition. It offers an alternative to heavily processed pet foods that often contain unclear ingredients, fillers, and artificial additives.
India’s pet food market is growing very fast—almost twice as quickly as regular FMCG products—creating a big opportunity for new and innovative brands like Zoomies.
The company is starting with a complete range of cat food and a limited selection of dog food. Its products are available at different price levels, from budget-friendly options to premium items made using advanced methods like freeze-drying.
In the future, Zoomies plans to expand across India through its own website and platforms like Amazon. It will also use fast delivery services to reach major cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
