
Aparajita Puri has been appointed as the Managing Director for India and South Asia at Microsoft. In this role, she will be responsible for leading the company’s strategy, growth, and overall operations in the region.
Announcing the move, she wrote, “After an incredibly rewarding journey at McKinsey & Company, I’m excited to begin a new chapter at Microsoft.” She also reflected on her time at McKinsey & Company, stating that she had the opportunity to work with global clients and colleagues across markets.
“I’m now stepping into a new role at Microsoft as Managing Director, India & South Asia to lead the Strategic Pursuits Team, partnering with leading enterprises on some of the largest and most transformative opportunities, especially as AI, Data and accelerated cloud adoption reshape industries,” she said.
Puri added, “It’s an exciting time (probably best ever) to be at the intersection of tech and business transformation.”
Before joining Microsoft, she worked at McKinsey & Company for more than 11 years and became a Partner. During this time, she helped companies with their strategy, transformation, and growth across different industries.
She also held several roles at McKinsey, including Associate Partner, Engagement Manager, Associate, and Junior Associate, which gave her wide consulting experience.
Earlier in her career, she worked at Bain & Company and completed a summer internship at Deutsche Bank, where she learned about investment banking.
With her strong background in consulting and strategy, she brings valuable experience to her new leadership role at Microsoft.
