It is focusing more on the software aspect of manufacturing automation now that it has onboarded partners like Ford, Caterpillar, and Coca-Cola. The CEO and co-founder of Botsync, Rahul Nambiar, stated that the company’s decision to refocus came about as a result of realising that integrating robots from different manufacturers presents a common challenge.

“We used to be robotic hardware vendors ourselves, and the integration challenges we faced with other automation systems in a facility often ended up delaying or derailing our entire implementation,” he adds.

Botsync’s SyncOS connects machines independent of programming language or protocol to assist enterprises overcome this challenge.

Nanyang Technological University graduates Nikhil Venkatesh, Prashant Trivedi, Singaram Venkatachalam, and Nambiar founded the firm, which raised US$5.2 million in a series A investment to improve its software.

Capital 2B and Betatron Venture Group led the funding. IvyCap Ventures, AppWorks, Iterative, Wong Fong, ZB Capital, Nalin Advani, and Ascend Angels invested. Botsync will use the funds to grow into major areas and improve customer assistance. The company distributes robots in Singapore, India, Thailand, and Indonesia.
