Adani Green Energy CEO Amit Singh to step down

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), one of the largest renewable companies in India, announced that its CEO, Amit Singh, will step down from his position and take charge as CEO of the Adani Group’s International Energy Business from April 1, 2025.

Ashish Khanna, who is the CEO of the International Energy Business, will take charge as AGEL CEO from April 1 next year, the Adani group company said in a statement.

According to AGEL, a leadership transfer has been carried out in accordance with the Adani Group’s regular internal leadership transitions and planning, as well as to continue promoting sustainable growth and an ever-evolving leadership development along with the larger group and business objectives.

Khanna has worked in India and overseas for more than thirty years in the fields of renewable energy, infrastructure, project management, and contract administration. With a wealth of international experience with SLB (previously Schlumberger), Amit Singh is a strategist for the energy sector and a pioneer in the energy transition.

Managing Director and Country Chair, Qatar, and later Director Corporate Strategy & Marketing, Digital and Integration division, London, are just a few of the roles he has held while working in more than a dozen locations. 

“Amit Singh, the current CEO of AGEL, will step down from his position as CEO of the Company, effective 31 March 2025 and will transition to his new role as CEO of International Energy Business of the Adani Group,” the statement said.

Amit’s leadership will further strengthen Group and align Group’s goals as Adani Group now wishes to broaden its business territory to international geographies.
