Tunisian agri-tech company Kumulus Water has raised $3.5 million from several investors, including Flat6Labs, Khalys Venture, Plus VC, and Bpifrance.
The company makes machines called airwater generators (AWGs) that turn air into clean, safe drinking water. Their goal is to provide easy-to-access and eco-friendly drinking water in places where water is hard to find or where there isn’t good water infrastructure.
The funding will help speed up the development of Kumulus Box, a new powerful water generator made for factories and communities.
It will also help the company grow stronger in France, Spain, and Tunisia and support its expansion in Saudi Arabia, which needs sustainable water solutions.
The company’s air water generators make clean drinking water from the air. They pull air in through a round opening at the top, filter out dirt and pollution, then cool and concentrate the air to create water, just like natural dew.
The system works on its own and doesn’t need to be connected to other services.
Users can control and monitor it from their phone or computer, check how much water is being made, get alerts for maintenance, and change settings depending on the weather.
The generators make between 20 and 30 litres of clean drinking water every day. They can run on electricity or solar power.
These generators are used in schools, hotels and communities in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. They also work well in labour camps and remote areas.
