Airtasker raises $10 millione quity funding round led by iHeartMedia

Airtasker, a freelance marketplace, has raised $10 million through an equity funding round led by iHeartMedia, a major US radio and podcast company. This new investment will help Airtasker promote itself more strongly overseas.

Airtasker, based in Sydney, connects people with freelancers like gardeners, bartenders, accountants, and many other service providers. The deal will help the company compete with big global platforms such as Upwork and Fiverr.

Along with the funding, Airtasker has also expanded its partnership with iHeartMedia. This gives the company access to an additional $7.6 million worth of advertising and media support in the US.

This new deal adds to Airtasker’s growing list of media-for-equity partnerships. In August 2024, Airtasker had already signed a $7.6 million agreement with iHeartMedia.

Airtasker’s international teams have also formed large media partnerships with Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns many TV stations in the US, and Mercurius Media, a media-for-equity investment fund.

In a statement, cofounder Tim Fung said its backers “believe in Airtasker’s mission and the opportunity to replicate the profitable business we’ve built in Australia into even larger markets in the US and UK”.

Airtasker reached $28 million in annual recurring revenue from its US and UK markets in June 2025.

According to Fung, the company expects overseas revenue to grow even faster now that it has more resources to support expansion.
