Airwallex Secures $330M Series G Funding Led by Addition

Airwallex, a leading global financial platform for modern businesses, has raised $330 million in a Series G funding round. The round was led by Addition, with participation from T. Rowe Price, Activant, Lingotto, Robinhood Ventures, and TIAA Ventures. This latest financing values Airwallex at $8 billion, marking a roughly 30% increase since its Series F round just six months ago.

The new investment will support Airwallex’s continued growth in the U.S. and other key markets worldwide, while accelerating AI hiring and product development. Highlighting its strong momentum and commitment to the U.S., Airwallex has set up a second global headquarters in San Francisco and plans to deploy over $1 billion between 2026 and 2029 to scale U.S. operations, attract top talent, and expand its physical and brand presence.

“We believe the future of global banking will be borderless, real-time, and intelligent,” said Jack Zhang, co-founder and CEO of Airwallex. “Legacy providers are fundamentally incompatible with how modern businesses operate, and our investors understand that we’re pulling ahead in the race to define this category. We’re building a modern alternative, a single platform that powers global banking, payments, billing, treasury, and spend on top of proprietary financial infrastructure. This capital will accelerate our growth, extend our technical leadership, and strengthen our position in the U.S. and across key markets worldwide.”

“Airwallex is reshaping the global business banking landscape,” said Lee Fixel at Addition. “The traditional financial system wasn’t built for borderless businesses, and Airwallex is uniquely equipped to solve this challenge. With its global financial infrastructure, software and AI capabilities, the company is exceptionally well positioned to lead the future of global business banking.”

Airwallex is developing a team of specialized AI agents designed to handle real financial workflows, aiming to create a fully autonomous finance department. These agents use contextual signals from payments, treasury, and spending activity to automate complex, high-value processes, including expense approvals, policy checks, and complete task orchestration.

Soon, hundreds of purpose-built AI agents will be deployed across the platform, helping businesses operate faster, more accurately, and with far less manual effort. This expansion is set to transform how companies manage financial operations, making them more efficient and streamlined.

“As AI lowers software costs, infrastructure and data become the ultimate differentiator,” Zhang added. “Airwallex connects the full spectrum of a customer’s financial operations – money in, money out, and everything in between, giving our agents the contextual data to execute with precision. This proprietary visibility, built on our scalable financial infrastructure, is what powers agentic finance.”

Airwallex is a leading global financial platform for modern businesses, shaping the future of global banking for a borderless, real-time, and intelligent economy. Over 200,000 companies worldwide—from startups to publicly listed enterprises—rely on Airwallex to manage their global banking and financial operations or to build and monetize their own financial products using Airwallex infrastructure.

Founded in Melbourne in 2015, Airwallex holds 80 licenses across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, making it one of the world’s most comprehensive financial infrastructures. This regulated backbone powers Airwallex’s global-scale products, including payment acceptance, billing, global accounts, corporate cards, and spend management.
