Amazon India to Invest $233M to Strengthen Operations Network

Amazon India is putting money into growing and improving its delivery network to make deliveries faster and more reliable. It’s also working to improve conditions for its employees and invest in new technology and innovation.

Amazon will invest over $233 million in 2025 to create India’s safest, fastest, and most reliable delivery network. The money will be used to upgrade its warehouses and delivery systems.

It will also help improve safety and wellness programs for employees and support the development of new tools and technology for its fulfilment network. This investment continues Amazon’s work to reach every serviceable PIN code in the country.

“For over a decade now in India, we have been focused on building the best-in-class logistics infrastructure—designed to deliver with safety, speed, scale, and reliability for our customers across the country. These latest investments reflect our commitment to continually expand and upgrade our operations across our fulfilment, sortation, and delivery network,” says Abhinav Singh, operations, Amazon India and Australia.

“By strengthening our infrastructure capabilities, enhancing processing capacity, and implementing state-of-the-art technology, we’re positioning Amazon to better serve customers throughout India while supporting our employees, associates and partners who are the heart of it all,” he added.

This investment will help Amazon handle more orders, deliver them faster, and make its operations more efficient across India. The main goal is to give customers quicker and more reliable service.

Amazon’s fulfilment centres are also built to be safe and easy to use for everyone, including people with disabilities.

Amazon is also working to make its buildings more comfortable and safer for employees. This includes better cooling systems, safety features, and resting areas to support their well-being and create an inclusive workplace.

Both new and existing facilities use modern technology and energy-saving systems. These steps show Amazon’s strong focus on growing its business in India, helping sellers, giving customers a better experience and supporting the local economy.

Amazon will continue to invest in programs that improve the health and financial well-being of its employees and delivery partners. This includes expanding initiatives like:

Ashray: Rest points for delivery partners (even non-Amazon), offering air-conditioned seating, water, phone charging, and washrooms.

Samridhi: A program that helps associates and drivers with financial education and personal money management.

Pratidhi: Offers scholarships to support the education of associates’ children.

Sushruta: Focuses on the healthcare needs of truck drivers.

Amazon offers on-site first-aid and insurance to all its workers, including delivery partners. Recently, it started a nationwide program to give free health check-ups to over 80,000 delivery partners through medical camps, which will run until the end of 2025.
