Bangalore-based AI B2C startup Ask My Guru (AMG) has raised $500,000 from Bharat Matrimony, which is part of the Matrimony.com Group.
This comes after AMG’s earlier $1.2 million seed funding, bringing its total funding to $1.72 million.
The new investment will help AMG improve its AI-powered astrology services and integrate them into Bharat Matrimony’s platform.
With its investment in Ask My Guru, Matrimony.com is combining India’s cultural traditions with modern AI technology to improve matchmaking.
AMG’s scalable AI models make astrology more accessible and add data-backed insights to traditional horoscope matching, improving compatibility predictions.
Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder & CEO, Matrimony.com Group, said, “Marriage is not only about bringing two people together but ensuring harmony between them. Astrology has always played a vital role in this process. With Ask My Guru’s AI-powered astrology, we see an opportunity to combine cultural traditions with cutting-edge technology for the benefit of millions.”
Krishna Mohan Vedula, CEO of Ask My Guru, said, “Bharat Matrimony’s trust in our vision will elevate AI-driven astrology from a niche tool into a mainstream, culturally anchored solution. We expect a momentum in the development of AMG’s AI engine, enhancing predictive precision and expanding language and regional support for India’s diverse user base. With integration into Bharat Matrimony’s platform, users will gain real time compatibility assessments, personalised astrological guidance, and multi-dimensional life insights. Our goal is to move AI astrology from being a supplementary tool to becoming a central, transformative feature of the matchmaking journey, uniting trust, cultural depth, and technological efficiency in one seamless experience.”
Ask My Guru was founded in 2024 by Krishna Mohan Vedula and Vivek Sadamate. It is an interactive spiritual-tech platform that helps users learn and practice Vedic Shastras. The platform blends AI, gamification, and ancient Vedic wisdom to make spirituality and astrology more modern and engaging.
Users can go on spiritual journeys related to relationships, career, and finance, while gurus on the platform get sustainable earning opportunities.
Since its beta launch in June 2025, Ask My Guru has over 400,000 users and 5 million chats. The platform plans to expand globally, starting with the US, and will use Bharat Matrimony’s 40 million+ users across web, mobile, and 130+ retail outlets.
