Brankas Team Up with Gimasys to deliver open banking solution for Vietnam's financial sector

As Vietnam’s digital economy grows quickly, Singapore-based digital banking company Brankas has announced a partnership with Gimasys, a Vietnamese company that offers digital transformation services.

This strategic combination will bring a comprehensive, safe and breakthrough Open Banking solution to the banking and finance industry (BFSI) in Vietnam, Brankas said in a statement on Tuesday.

The timing is important, as banks and financial institutions in Vietnam now face two main challenges: they must follow new rules like Circular 64/2024/TT-NHNN on Open APIs and also speed up their digital transformation to stay competitive.

The partnership between Gimasys and Brankas is a smart solution to help banks handle these challenges.

Brankas’ trusted open finance technology, known for its strong security and reliability, is now even more effective thanks to Gimasys joining as a key tech partner for banks.

Gimasys adds value by bringing deep knowledge of the Vietnamese market and strong experience in connecting complex banking systems. This helps tailor the best solutions for each bank.

Together, this partnership helps banks launch new services faster, reduce operating costs and most importantly, offer better experiences to their customers.

“We are honored to have strategic cooperation with Brankas – one of the pioneers of Open Finance in Southeast Asia,

“The combination of Gimasys’ comprehensive digital solution deployment capacity and Brankas’ leading API Banking technology will create breakthrough values for the finance and banking industry in Vietnam,” said Nguyen Thanh Son, Director of Banking Division at Gimasys.

“We believe that this cooperation will help financial institutions accelerate the digital transformation process while bringing a more modern, flexible and secure open banking experience to users,” he added.

Meanwhile, Todd D. Schweitzer, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Brankas said Vietnam holds immense promise in the open banking space, especially as regulatory frameworks continue to evolve.

“We are excited to join forces with Gimasys, a trusted digital transformation partner, to seize this opportunity and work closely with both banks and non-bank institutions to drive innovation and enhance customer-centric financial services,

“This collaboration embodies our shared vision of enabling Vietnamese banks to adopt open, interoperable ecosystems—ensuring regulatory compliance while unlocking new revenue streams through API monetization and supporting long-term, sustainable growth,” he added.

According to the statement, this partnership isn’t just about following rules – it also creates new chances for banks to innovate and improve.

Gimasys and Brankas will work closely with banks and financial institutions to give advice and help them stay ahead of upcoming regulations set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

They’ll support everything from automating payment processes to managing APIs, working with third-party partners, handling user permissions and keeping data secure. Every part of the customer and partner experience will be made smoother, faster and more efficient.

This platform will help banks not just follow the rules but also use these challenges to gain long-term advantages over competitors.

With experience working in many Southeast Asian countries and easy-to-use technology, Gimasys and Brankas’ solutions will help Vietnamese banks and financial companies move confidently into the new world of open finance.
