Carbyne, a company that creates cloud software for emergency call centers, is raising $100 million in a new funding round led by AT&T,media reports. So far, the company has raised about $136 million in total.
Investors in Carbyne include Socium Ventures, AT&T Ventures (the investment branch of AT&T, which first supported the company in 2024), Cox Enterprises, Valor Equity Partners, General Global Capital, Hanaco Ventures, TalC, and Sandiip Bhammer.
Other investors are Elsted Capital Partners, FinTLV, Founders Fund, and former CIA Director David Petraeus. One of the company’s earliest supporters was former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, although he is no longer officially connected to the company.
AT&T’s first investment in Carbyne started an important partnership that is still going strong today. After their initial deal, Carbyne reported that AT&T uses two leading Carbyne solutions.
The first solution is a unified emergency call system that combines different data sources into one platform, using artificial intelligence and rich media. The second is an over-the-top (OTT) service that gives clients access to AI features and multimedia tools without needing to replace their current call management systems.
Carbyne’s cloud technology helps emergency dispatch centers and first responders connect with callers and internet devices through very secure communication channels. This works without needing a special app.
Right now, many 911 centers in the United States—like those in Miami, Atlanta, and New Orleans—use Carbyne’s services. It is also used in Mexico, Colombia, and by the emergency response company Global Medical Response.
In Israel, Carbyne works with clients like the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem city governments and the emergency group United Hatzalah.
The company’s main office is in New York, and it has research, development, and sales teams in Tel Aviv, Mexico, India, and Ukraine. As of 2024, Carbyne has about 230 employees, with 80 of them working in Israel.
Carbyne was founded in 2014 by Pinchas Buchris, Amir Elichai (CEO), Alex Dizengoff (CTO), Yony Yatsun, and Lital Leshem.
