Swapp, a UAE-based online car rental platform, has expanded its partnership with the Careem Everything App. As part of the deal, Careem has taken a minority stake in Swapp.
This deal is an important step in building closer cooperation between the two tech-based mobility platforms.
Their goal is to make car rental more convenient and accessible in the region’s growing market.
In 2022, Careem added Swapp to its app as Careem Car Rental, offering more mobility options in the UAE like car rental and subscription services.
With Swapp, the Careem Everything App now provides an even wider range of digital services, including mobility, delivery, and fintech solutions.
The new minority stake will help Careem and Swapp create smarter and simpler car rental services across the region.
Features include instant KYC for fast onboarding, one-hour car delivery with smart fleet management, and real-time vehicle tracking so users can see their car arriving live.
Customers can also swap their rental cars on demand or choose a lease-to-own option, giving them flexible ways to rent or own a car, all through the Swapp platform.
Swapp provides a fully digital car rental service, so customers don’t need to visit a rental office or deal with complicated paperwork. Cars are delivered to their doorstep within 24 hours after a simple online registration.
Swapp has a strong vehicle marketplace, including cars from leasing companies, manufacturers, and its own fleet. It is also adding more electric vehicles (EVs) to promote green mobility in the UAE.
Uzair Moosa, CEO at Swapp, commented: “Being embedded within the Careem app has enabled us to connect thousands of customers in the region to flexible car rental with unparalleled convenience and cost-savings. Over the months ahead we’re excited to expand our regional presence and offer our customers new multi-month deals and even faster fulfillment.”
“We’re thrilled for Swapp to enter its next stage of growth as demand for flexible car rentals in the Middle East continues to soar. This deepened partnership reflects a shared vision to simplify access to mobility through technology and deliver more flexible, affordable transportation options across the region.”
Adeeb Warsi, Chief Operating Officer at Careem said: “The opportunity for car rental services continues to rise as more and more people opt for flexible and affordable means of transportation. Swapp’s supply of high-quality vehicles and smooth digital experience has delivered immense value to our customers’ lives and we’re excited to further expand our reach into this fast-growing segment.”
