Career 180 Expands into Saudi Arabia with VMS Partnership and New Funding

Egypt-based edtech platform Career 180 has secured a six-figure investment from US-based Den VC and announced its expansion into Saudi Arabia with Value Makers Studio (VMS) support.

Founded in 2017 by Shrouk Alaa El Din and Mohamed Akmal, Career 180 provides practical skills training and job-matching services through a SaaS-based learning platform. The company serves over 1 million learners and aims to help 50,000 more people—especially unemployed youth—enter the workforce.

The new funding will help Career 180 grow its Learning Management System (LMS), translate and adapt its content into Arabic, and expand its operations to Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Malta.

Press release:

Career 180, a leading EdTech platform in the Middle East and Africa, has announced a new six-figure investment from Den VC. This investment strengthens the company’s position as a top career development and education technology player.

Career 180 will expand into Oman, Malta, and Saudi Arabia with this funding. The company plans to grow its LMS product, translate its courses into Arabic to reach more users, and increase its presence in these markets. It aims to train over 1 million people and help 50,000 unemployed individuals find jobs, building on its past success.

“Building Career 180 has been more than just a business for me; it’s been a mission. I truly believe that every young person deserves to find their path and succeed, no matter where they start. With the support of our amazing partners and the recent investment, we’re ready to take our work to new places. Expanding into Saudi Arabia and other regions means we can do even more to help young people shape their careers and become the next generation of confident, empowered professionals. It’s not just about growing a company; it’s about creating lasting impact.” Said Shrouk Alaa, Co-founder, Career 180

As part of its regional growth, Career 180 is entering the Saudi market with help from VMS. This venture studio supports entrepreneurs and global startups growing across the MENA region.

With VMS’s local knowledge and strong network, Career 180 plans to make a bigger impact in Saudi Arabia by focusing on creating job opportunities for young people and helping them build their skills.

Career 180 was named one of the top EdTech startups by HolonIQ in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The company has also worked with major organizations like the International Labour Organization (ILO), GIZ, Coca-Cola HBC Egypt, and Plan International.

Its founder, Shrouk Alaa El Din, was recognized as one of Africa’s Top 50 Female Entrepreneurs by the IFC and the Embassy of the Netherlands. This shows the company’s commitment to supporting gender inclusion and empowering young people.

“At VMS, we believe startups need more than just funding to succeed—they need local guidance, supportive networks, and specialized services that help them quickly adapt to new markets. Through our soft-landing services, we work side-by-side with startups to accelerate their entry into the Saudi market and overcome operational and commercial challenges.” Said Moataz Abuonq, CEO, VMS

With new funding and strong partners, Career 180 is ready for its next growth stage. The company will keep improving career development across the EMEA region by using new ideas, localizing its services, and building valuable partnerships.
