Venture X has invested in Croptimus, an Egypt-based agritech startup that is working on new solutions for regenerative farming and eco-friendly biochar production.
Croptimus turns farm and food waste into useful products like biochar, activated oil, and bio-oil. These products help farmers use less water and fertiliser, keep their crops healthier, and follow more eco-friendly farming methods.
The company works mainly with businesses in the agriculture supply chain across Egypt and nearby regions. Its goal is to make farming systems more efficient, stronger, and better for the environment.
This investment shows that agriculture and food security are becoming more important in the region. It also highlights the need for technology-based solutions to deal with climate change and limited natural resources.
Croptimus is a graduate of the Harvest Accelerator, a program that supports new ideas to improve farming and make regional food systems stronger through innovation.
Commenting on the investment, Farah Al-Nahhas said the deal represents a positive addition from a new investment group, expressing hope that more angel investors will step up to support agritech startups across the region.
Ahmed Hassanein, Founder of Croptimus, said the partnership with Venture X marks an important milestone in the company’s growth journey, reinforcing its vision of delivering innovation with tangible environmental and economic impact and supporting the expansion of its sustainable agricultural solutions regionally and internationally.
