Cybersecurity company Cymphony has raised $25 million in Series A funding, co-led by Sequoia Capital and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund. This follows a $5 million seed round led by Sequoia Capital.
SUMMARY
- Cymphony raised $25 million in Series A funding.
- It helps companies secure employee and AI agent access to sensitive data.
- The new funding will support sales, growth, and product development.
With the latest funding, Cymphony has raised a total of $30 million. The company currently has around 23 employees working across Israel and the U.S.
Cymphony is building a cybersecurity platform that helps companies understand and control how employees and AI agents access sensitive data and interact with important business systems. The funding will support the development of this platform.
“We built the company initially to secure employees. The biggest risks in an organization stem from employee access, and this is the most complicated attack surface,” Dekel said. “We mapped the identities and permissions together and knew what each employee was allowed to do.”

The fast growth of AI tools and AI agents has made cybersecurity more complicated. Companies are now using more AI systems in their daily operations.
These AI systems can access company resources, sensitive data, and important tools. In the past, this type of access was mainly given to employees.
“The security industry keeps treating AI as another application to secure, but that's the wrong model to use,” Dekel said. “AI agents are becoming active participants in the business. Companies need to know what they're doing, what they can access, and how they're interacting with employees before they can secure them.”
“We raised the money to sell significantly more,” he said. “It’s really important for me to sell and prove that we have a stable base of large customers. It’s time to double capacity, and we have customers who pay high amounts.”
Cymphony was founded around two years ago by Shy Dekel, Idan Berkovits, and Edi Gotlieb. Dekel is the co-founder and CEO, Berkovits is the chief product officer, and Gotlieb is the chief technology officer.
All three founders are graduates of Israel’s Talpiot program, where they met during their military service. Dekel served for nearly six years in Unit 8200 and later became head of its Cyber Department.
Berkovits worked as a research group manager in the Office of the Prime Minister. Gotlieb, who has a background in electrical engineering, previously worked at Apple and later held technology roles at Israel’s Ministry of Defense.
