DailyCo Indonesia Acquires Waku to Strengthen B2B Catering and Canteen Services

DailyCo, a food and drink company from Indonesia, has bought Wadah Kuliner (Waku), a local company that provides catering and canteen services for businesses and government organizations.

DailyCo said on Tuesday that with this purchase, it now runs one of the country’s biggest catering networks for businesses and organizations. This puts them at the front of the food and drink industry, which is growing through more partnerships, digital changes, and new workplace expectations.

It pointed out that the catering market for businesses in Jakarta and West Java is worth $62 billion.

Waku, founded in 2017, provides services such as daily meals, snack boxes, buffets, coffee breaks, pantry supplies, and more.

In recent years, the company has seen an 88% growth in revenue each year and has started making a profit before taxes and interest (EBITDA).

It provides over 10 million meals yearly to more than 658 clients in 20 cities across Indonesia, with a 98% rate of customers ordering again.

The company works with over 60 kitchens and offers a menu with more than 15,000 choices, meeting different dietary needs and event preferences.

Waku Founder and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Gunawan has been appointed Chief HR Officer (CHRO) at DailyCo.

This strategic acquisition is designed to bolster DailyCo’s capacity to provide innovative and adaptable dining solutions to businesses and organizations across Indonesia.

Under the umbrella of DailyCo, the Waku brand will continue to operate with its existing partners, systems and customer base ensuring a seamless transition.

The integration will improve operations by combining kitchen resources, purchasing, supply chain and sales. According to the statement, it will also work on developing the workforce and better aligning the team, with Anthony taking on a new role to lead human resources.

Recently, the company made an important deal with the Ministry of Religious Affairs to provide pre-packaged meals for Indonesia’s Hajj Pilgrimage. This opens up a new way for businesses to earn more money. The agreement is a key step in next phase for the combined company.

The large and complex nature of the contract is seen as a test of DailyCo’s ability to serve big, nationwide clients with top-notch operations successfully.

Waku also serves major clients like Lazada, Bank Central Asia, BRI Group, Mandiri Group, and Tokopedia, along with significant events like the FIFA World Cup.

“At DailyCo, we don’t just buy businesses—we invest in people. From the beginning, we recognized Anthony’s exceptional ability to build and grow a strong team with a world-class company culture.

“The strength of Waku’s internal culture was a key driver of its operational excellence, and we knew that bringing Anthony on as CHRO would be critical to replicating that success across the broader DailyCo as a group,” DailyCo Founder and Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Subowo said.

The acquisition is an important move for DailyCo as it aims to lead Indonesia’s institutional food services industry, which is growing quickly but is mostly made up of small, local providers.

As demand grows for safe, reliable, and nutritious meals in workplaces and institutions, the company expands its B2B reach by acquiring successful businesses with solid operations. Waku is an excellent example of this strategy.

DailyCo says it is still working hard to find the right companies to join or buy that match its goal of helping to feed the country. Anyone interested is welcome to contact their team.

Joining DailyCo gives us new chances to grow and help more people while staying true to our mission and brand values.

“Together, we’re not only building a larger business—we’re also raising the bar for how institutional meals can be delivered: with consistency, care, and scale,” the newly minted CHRO of DailyCo Anthony Gunawan said.
