Dashamlabs Secures INR 12 Crore Seed Funding to Expand Aerogel Innovation

Dashamlabs, a materials science company, has raised INR 12 crore in a seed funding round led by Speciale Invest, with support from IIMA Ventures.

The money will be used to expand research and production, build pilot systems, and work with partners in oil & gas, EVs, defense, and construction to test and grow Zepto’s aerogel products.

Ankit Jhanwar, Co-founder and CEO of Dashamlabs, said, “We’re on a mission to make energy-efficient materials accessible across industries. By scaling advanced aerogels made in India, we aim to enable cleaner, safer, and more efficient technologies globally.”

Dashamlabs was founded in 2024 by Ankit Jhanwar, Apoorv Balwani, and Devakar Dhingra. The company makes flexible sheets and insulation materials using silica aerogel, which are lightweight, fire-resistant, and high-performance.

The Delhi-based deeptech startup focuses on industrial, mobility, and infrastructure applications that need advanced thermal and fire insulation.

Dashamlabs’ technology creates flexible silica aerogel sheets that have excellent heat insulation, can withstand extreme temperatures (-150°C to 1000°C), repel water, and are fire-resistant.

The company is now improving its ethanol-based drying process and working on ambient-pressure drying to make large-scale, cost-effective production possible.

Speciale Invest, an investor in early-stage deeptech startups, said its funding shows confidence in Dashamlabs’ innovation and its ability to transform insulation technologies.

The partnership aims to strengthen India’s high-performance materials industry and promote global use of sustainable, energy-efficient solutions.
