The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Government of India, has partnered with fintech company Razorpay to support startups in India.
They signed an agreement to help startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs across the country grow faster. Through this partnership, startups will get access to financial tools, digital payment solutions, founder support programs, and useful resources.
It will support both new and growing startups by offering guidance, help with company registration, mentorship, and support in building and scaling their businesses.
As part of this initiative, a platform called Startup Sahayak has been launched to support early-stage founders. It provides everything in one place, including company registration, access to government schemes, and guidance on funding.
Joint Secretary at DPIIT, Sanjiv Singh, said this partnership shows the government’s strong support for startups by working with leading fintech companies. He added that easy access to financial tools and systems will help startups grow faster.
Razorpay CEO and Co-founder, Harshil Mathur, said the goal is to support innovation and make it easier for entrepreneurs to build and scale their businesses. He also highlighted that as more startups come up, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, there is a growing need for better infrastructure, mentorship, and support.
Under this partnership, DPIIT and Razorpay will organise regular learning sessions through the Startup India Hub on topics like AI, marketing, product development, and finance. DPIIT-recognised startups will also get help with company registration at zero professional fees (excluding government charges), along with access to credits and special offers on business tools.
Startups will also receive mentorship, pitch deck reviews, application support, and useful resources to help them in the early stages. Some startups will be added to founder communities where they can network, learn from peers, and get support in areas like engineering, hiring, and marketing.
The partnership will also explore innovation challenges under the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge, focusing on fintech and digital innovation.
The agreement was signed by T. L. K. Singh, Deputy Secretary of DPIIT, and Arif Khan, Chief Information Officer at Razorpay, in the presence of officials from both organisations.
