Ericsson from Sweden has partnered with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group to build modern mobile network systems for major airports in Vietnam.
This partnership will help bring advanced mobile connectivity to airports, making operations faster, smarter, and more efficient.
It is the first time Ericsson and VNPT are working together in the airport sector, using new technology to improve how airports function.
This project also shows Ericsson’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s digital growth and helping the country improve its technology infrastructure.
Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group will use advanced radio systems and network solutions from Ericsson to improve connectivity at airports.
VNPT Deputy CEO – Nguyen Nam Long says, “Airports worldwide are increasingly adopting advanced cellular connectivity to improve operational efficiency, streamline passenger experiences, and enable secure, seamless communications across airport systems and assets. The enhanced connectivity that we will provide as part of this airport modernization project will support smarter operations across areas such as passenger processing, baggage handling, and asset management while helping the airport to operate more efficiently.”
Rita Mokbel, President of Ericsson Vietnam, says “This collaboration with VNPT represents an important milestone for Ericsson’s enterprise connectivity initiatives in Vietnam. By bringing our latest radio and baseband technology to this project, we are enabling secure, high-performance connectivity that will help modernize airport operations, enhance passenger experiences, and support the airport’s digital transformation journey.”
These solutions will provide strong and high-capacity network coverage, especially inside busy airport terminals where many people use mobile services.
The system will support multiple network bands, making it easier for international travelers to stay connected and use roaming services smoothly.
With better connectivity, airports can run operations more efficiently, including communication for staff, passenger services, and other important tasks.
According to VNPT’s Deputy CEO Nguyen Nam Long, this upgrade will help improve areas like passenger processing, baggage handling, and asset management, making airports smarter and more efficient.
