ExploMar Raises Over $10M Series A round to Boost Global Expansion

ExploMar, a global brand known for its high-performance electric propulsion systems for boats, has raised over USD $10 million in its Series A funding round. The round was co-led by major private equity funds and a publicly listed company in China, with existing investor DCM Ventures also joining in.

The company will use the new capital to expand its global distribution and service network, strengthen its supply chain, and upgrade its products to support its worldwide growth.

As the world shifts toward greener mobility, electric water transportation is becoming essential. Speedboats are especially polluting — one can emit 15 to 20 times more pollutants than a bus of the same length. Traditional electric outboards have mostly been limited to low and medium power because of challenges with power density and lightweight design, leaving the high-performance segment mostly untouched.

To address this gap, ExploMar was founded in 2021 to develop medium- to high-power electric propulsion systems and integrated energy solutions for marine use. Over the past year, the company has made strong commercial progress.

ExploMar has delivered its systems to customers across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America, and has built a distribution network in more than 20 countries and regions, including China, Norway, Italy, Nigeria, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.

With its innovative design approach, the company created the WAVE series of high-performance electric outboards, such as the WAVE 300, WAVE 150+, and WAVE 70+. It also developed the 5S Energy Station — a solar, storage, and fast-charging solution. These products combine high performance, low maintenance needs, smart control features, and sustainability.

Supported by over 100 patents, the WAVE series enables efficient, zero-emission propulsion for a wide range of marine uses. The flagship WAVE 300 is considered an industry benchmark, thanks to its lightweight build and powerful torque — the 25-inch shaft version weighs only 218 kg while delivering up to 655 N•m of torque.

ExploMar focuses on testing at every stage of product development. The company uses a structured testing system and has built several electric prototype boats — such as RIBs, bass boats, and patrol boats — to check how its systems perform in different real-world conditions. Through long hours of on-water trials and tough environment tests, ExploMar keeps improving the stability and reliability of its technology to make sure each product works smoothly in real marine situations.

In 2025, ExploMar’s WAVE 300 system powered a customer’s carbon RIB boat in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, where it delivered excellent performance. This success shows that ExploMar’s technology is not only advanced but also ready for high-performance electric boating at a global level.
