[FUNDING NEWS] Israel-Based Firefly Secures $23 Million in Series A Funding

Firefly, a “infrastructure as code” startup, raised $23 million to address the complex cloud asset management challenge. That follows robust tech demand and fourfold revenue growth in 2023.

Firefly, a “infrastructure as code” startup, raised $23 million to address the complex cloud asset management challenge. That follows robust tech demand and fourfold revenue growth in 2023.

The firm’s newest accomplishment follows Hamas’ October 2023 massacre of co-founder CTO Joseph “Sefi” Genis at the Nova music festival. The company is again at the confluence of technology and global events.

Firefly was born in 2021 during a massive “digital transformation” after the COVID-19 pandemic. Organisations used the cloud extensively to manage distant workers and offer new services. Cloud migration offered a chance to work more effectively and flexibly, but it also entails risk.

As firms work across numerous containers, clouds, apps, and devices, ops teams have problems controlling their digital assets, whether active or inactive, which can affect cost, security, and operations.

Firefly’s tech scans assets in Google, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, private clouds, containers, apps, and more. Using AI technology, the company creates a picture of the scenario and immediately highlights potential conflicts and solutions.

Firefly provides “infrastructure as code,” which DevOps and associated teams use to provide and manage cloud resources without physical or interactive equipment.

The money will be used to expand Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams and serve more use cases.

Firefly, founded in 2021 by CEO Ido Neeman, CPO Eran Bibi, and late CTO Sefi Genis, creates an IaC-agnostic code generation engine and an innovative ops-focused cloud scanner.

It addresses discovery, self-service provisioning, governance, drift management, and backup, understanding which parts are codified vs. unmanaged, detecting drifts to prevent service failures, classifying assets using policy-as-code, and managing a single inventory of all cloud resources across multi-cloud and Kubernetes clusters.

About Firefly
