In the area of cancer molecular diagnostics, Korea-based Gencurix, Inc. and Japanese company Hitachi High-Tech Corporation have formed a strategic Partnership.
By combining Gencurix’s technology and experience in biomarker discovery for cancer diagnosis and development of molecular testing service with Hitachi High-Tech’s core competencies in R&D and manufacturing of in vitro diagnostic products and digital technology, the partnership aims to develop a testing service for cancer molecular diagnostics.
In order to assess the viability of the business, both firms signed a Feasibility Study (FS) agreement as part of their cooperation, and in June 2024 they fulfilled the milestones outlined in the FS agreement.
Hitachi High-Tech and Gencurix intend to commercialize testing services in Japan as the next stage.

In order to advance the healthcare industry centered on “Diagnosis x Therapy x Digital” and foster healthcare innovation, Hitachi, Ltd. and Hitachi High-Tech combined Hitachi’s Healthcare Business Division (radiation therapy, digital healthcare, etc.) to Hitachi High-Tech in April 2024.

The goal of Hitachi High Tech’s growth strategy is to strengthen its molecular diagnostics business, which includes this relationship.
In order to advance personalized medicine in the field of oncology, Hitachi High-Tech and Gencurix will collaborate to develop the cancer diagnostic tests needed in clinical practice. They also hope to offer highly dependable testing service solutions through the use of digital technology.
Together, they will first establish a testing service company in Japan before expanding to other nations.
