Good Farmer Food Concepts Raises $1.5M in Pre-Series A Round Led by CreedCap

Good Farmer Food Concepts, the company behind Maverick & Farmer Coffee and the quick-service brand Square Burgers & Co., has raised USD 1.5 million in an ongoing Pre-Series A funding round led by investment firm CreedCap.

The round also includes investments from Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna, former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, and Meraki Sport & Entertainment.

The fresh funds will be used to open more cafes across India, improve research and production facilities, and grow the brand’s retail business.

Sreeram Gangadharan, Co-founder, Good Farmer Food Concepts, said, “Before expanding, we first ensured that our people and operations were completely in order. Once that foundation was set, we began exploring funding and new locations. From the outset, we knew that each Maverick & Farmer Café should tell its own story and connect with a unique community. With Square Burgers, our vision was clear—we wanted to experiment with health-forward fast food. The current round of funding has enabled us to bring these ideas to life.”

Rohan Bopanna said, “I’ve watched Maverick & Farmer grow from the very beginning, and what’s always stood out to me is the honesty and intent behind the brand. Their commitment to quality, experimentation and staying true to their roots is rare. I’m proud to continue supporting their journey and excited to be part of what’s in store next.”

Good Farmer Food Concepts was started in 2024 by Ashish D’abreo, Sreeram Gangadharan, and Tej Thammaiah. The company focuses on creating new ideas in coffee, building community-style cafés, and offering healthier fast-food options.

Maverick & Farmer is known for its bold and experimental style of Indian coffee, while Square Burgers & Co. is growing as a brand that offers health-first and nutritious fast food.

Maverick & Farmer follows a farm-to-cup approach and tests new coffee blends and flavours on its 140-acre estate in Pollibetta, Coorg.

The brand plans to open new cafés in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Goa, and Bangalore. Right now, it has seven outlets in Bangalore and Goa and plans to increase this number to ten outlets by the end of the year.

Currently, Maverick & Farmer cafés are located in Ulsoor, Koramangala, Cunningham Road, and Yelahanka in Bangalore, and Anjuna and Panjim in Goa. It also runs a Square Burgers & Co. outlet at the Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence.
