GoTo Group, the premier digital ecosystem in Indonesia, has partnered with Microsoft Indonesia to implement GitHub Copilot, an AI development tool, which is a major step toward increasing efficiency across its engineering teams.

According to a statement released by GoTo on Monday, GitHub Copilot’s AI capabilities—which range from providing real-time code suggestions and chat support in the integrated development environment to breaking down complex coding concepts using everyday conversational language—significantly increase engineers’ productivity and happiness in their daily coding tasks.

According to Hans Patuwo, Chief Operating Officer of GoTo, “since June 2024, nearly a thousand of GoTo’s engineers have adopted GitHub Copilot, with full rollout expected by mid-October 2024.”

The GoTo Group engineers reported significant time savings of an average of over seven hours per week, which allowed them to innovate more quickly and provide more value to our users. “The adoption of this AI-powered coding assistant has enabled our engineers to enhance code quality and to accomplish more in less time,” he continued.

In addition to saving time, GoTo’s engineers have seen a 30% early code acceptance rate in just their first month of using GitHub Copilot.

Vice President of GitHub’s Asia Pacific (APAC), Sharryn Napier, expressed her excitement about providing GoTo’s engineers with AI across the software development lifecycle with GitHub Copilot. The statement claims that GoTo’s decision to incorporate AI into its workflow demonstrates its dedication to fostering innovation and enabling its employees to produce significant technology at scale.
