Green GSM has started an all-electric taxi service in Davao. This is the company’s first move outside Metro Manila. The goal is to provide clean, modern, and well-organized transportation in important cities across the Philippines.
The launch ceremony was attended by Sir Nonito Llanos, Regional Director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for Davao, along with representatives from local government departments, agencies, and members of the local business community.
Davao is one of Mindanao’s major cities and plays an important role in the country’s economy and society. The city is known for its focus on public safety, environmental protection, and strong community values. These efforts have created a transportation system that is safe, reliable, and trusted by the public.
In recent years, Davao has seen steady growth in population, business activities, and daily travel needs. Local authorities have also been working to improve air quality, encourage responsible city planning, and make the city more livable for everyone.
Because of these factors, Davao is a good place for modern and efficient transportation solutions. These solutions fit well with the city’s people-centered approach and support its goals for safety, convenience, and sustainability.
Mr. Dao Quy Phi, Managing Director of Green GSM Southeast Asia, said: “Davao is a city that places strong emphasis on order, safety and environmental responsibility. Our objective is to provide a reliable, zero-emission mobility option that aligns with these priorities while meeting the everyday transportation needs of local residents. This expansion is a strategic step in our national roadmap for electric mobility and we look forward to working closely with Davao’s institutions and communities to ensure that the service contributes meaningfully to the city’s long-term goals for well-managed and sustainable urban development.”
Davao commuters can now book Green GSM taxis in several ways: through the Green GSM app, by calling the hotline, at designated pick-up points, or by hailing a taxi on the street in main commercial areas.
As a special offer, anyone who downloads and registers on the Green GSM app will get 25 Green Points. Each point is worth one Philippine peso, and these points can be used right away for the first ride or saved for future trips.
Since starting in the Philippines in June 2025, Green GSM has focused on providing transportation that is reliable, clear, and eco-friendly. Expanding to Davao shows the company’s commitment to supporting cities that value safety, community and sustainable growth while helping promote cleaner and more efficient transportation across the country.
