Gulf Edge Co Ltd the digital infrastructure arm of Gulf Group, has joined hands with Google Cloud. The two companies will work together on artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.
Under this collaboration, Gulf Edge will lead the effort to help Gulf Group and its affiliates, including Advanced Info Service (AIS), adopt advanced cloud and AI technologies from Google Cloud.
The aim of the partnership is to transform Gulf Group into an AI-native organisation, meaning AI will become a core part of how the company operates.
Together, Gulf Edge and Google Cloud plan to create secure, locally controlled (sovereign), and intelligent AI services. These services are designed to help businesses across Thailand grow and work more efficiently.
This partnership continues Gulf Group’s plan to provide more access to Google Distributed Cloud locally. It focuses on keeping data secure while using advanced cloud technology.
Gulf Edge brings its expertise in digital infrastructure, AIS adds its wide network coverage, and Google Cloud provides its powerful AI technology. Together, they aim to help businesses of all sizes in Thailand’s key industries innovate and grow using cloud and AI.
“This expanded partnership with Google Cloud marks a significant milestone in our journey to build a future-ready digital ecosystem for Thailand,” said Sarath Ratanavadi, chief executive of Gulf Development Plc.
He said the partnership positions Gulf Group and affiliates at the forefront of AI-driven transformation, with a clear objective to pioneer secure, sovereign and agentic AI solutions for Thai businesses.
Mr Sarath said the collaboration will ignite Thailand’s growth engine in the digital industry, build local talent, and open up new business opportunities in line with the global AI trend.
“By combining our infrastructure strengths and strong delivery capabilities with Google’s world-class technology, we aim to empower both the public and private sectors with transformative AI capabilities that elevate national digital competitiveness and drive long-term equitable economic and GDP growth,” he said.
Gulf Edge says that AIS will serve as a model for AI across the whole company, showing other organisations and partners how to do the same.
As part of this, they will use Google’s Gemini Enterprise platform to build a new AI system that integrates network, operations, and customer data in a secure, reliable, and scalable way.
This system will help deliver AI agents across the company that do more than basic automation—they will provide smart solutions to business problems and improve customer service.
