Lebanon-based legal tech company HAQQ Legal AI has raised $3 million in funding to grow its artificial intelligence platform. The funding round was led by Sowlutions Ventures.
This investment will help HAQQ Legal AI improve its AI-powered system for the legal industry and expand its services to new global markets.
HAQQ Legal AI is creating an all-in-one AI platform for the legal industry. It brings together legal research, case and practice management, payments, and legal infrastructure into a single system, making legal work simpler and more connected.
Today, the platform is used by over 7,000 clients, including law firms, corporate legal teams, courts, bar associations, public institutions, and everyday users. It helps them carry out legal work securely, accurately, and in line with local laws and regulations.
Unlike general legal AI tools, HAQQ Legal AI is built to understand each organization’s specific way of working. It uses structured legal knowledge and customized digital models to match a firm’s data, rules, and workflows, ensuring reliable and relevant results.
At the heart of the platform is Justinian®, HAQQ Legal AI’s own AI engine. It can produce ready-to-use legal work with just one prompt. In real-world use and testing, it has shown higher accuracy and better understanding of legal systems than standard AI tools. Acting like an AI lawyer, it can handle many legal tasks traditionally done by humans—faster, more consistently, and with greater efficiency.
“Quite a lot of people wonder how we can be so confident about the future of Legal AI, and the answer is quite simple, really: we’re the ones building it. Legal AI is much more than just a chatbot; it’s ontological systems, security infrastructure, data mapping, context building, and predictive analytics. It’s not just about understanding jurisprudence; it’s about modelling real-world enterprise decision-making, workflows, and outcomes. This is what it really means to digitize Justice,” Antoine Kanaan, founder & CEO of HAQQ Legal AI
“HAQQ is not about replacing human judgement. It’s about strengthening it. We use AI to take the repetitive, heavy work off lawyers’ shoulders so they can spend more time on what really matters: clear thinking, better decision-making, advocating for clients, and building real human relationships. The goal isn’t to turn lawyers into machines. It’s to give them better tools so they can be more present, more strategic, and more human in the way they practise law. We are leveraging AI to remove friction so lawyers can do more of what only lawyers can do,” Maître Abbas Kabalan, founder & Chief Legal Officer
Founded in 2020 by Antoine Kanaan and Maître Abbas Kabalan, HAQQ is building an all-in-one AI platform for the legal industry. It brings together legal intelligence, case and practice management, payments, and legal systems into a single platform that handles legal work from start to finish.
