Hyundai Motor Group has introduced MobED, its first mass-produced mobility robot platform. The robot was developed by the company’s Robotics LAB and was revealed at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
MobED was first introduced as a concept robot at CES 2022. Since then, Hyundai Motor Group has improved it and turned it into a fully autonomous mobility robot platform powered by AI.
The updated, production-ready MobED is now the main highlight at Hyundai’s booth at iREX 2025 (West Hall 3-4, W3-44), which runs from December 3 to 6.
Hyundai has also released promotional videos of MobED, which can be viewed on the Group’s official YouTube channel.
“Beyond a simple mobility platform, MobED offers a next-generation solution adaptable to diverse industries and everyday life. MobED will set new standards in the global robotics market and accelerate a future where humans and robots coexist.” – Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB.
MobED brings a fresh, innovative approach to how robots work. Its design is centered around three key strengths: Adaptive Mobility (hardware), Intuitive Autonomy (software), and Infinite Journey (applications).
Together, these pillars help MobED move smoothly, think intelligently, and support a wide range of real-world uses.
MobED uses AI-powered navigation along with LiDAR and camera sensors to move on its own and understand its surroundings accurately.
It also has a special posture control system that helps it stay stable and adjust smoothly, even in different or uneven environments.
With advanced sensors and Drive-and-Lift (DnL) modules built into its design, MobED maintains excellent balance and delivers reliable, efficient performance.
