Prioritising our patients and serving the needs of our communities is at the heart of everything we do at IHH, as we strive to deliver Care. For Good.” Dr Prem Kumar Nair, Group Chief Executive Officer, IHH Healthcare.
“The Upright Photon Alliance underscores our steadfast commitment at IHH to transforming and elevating patient care through innovation. This new approach to photon radiation treatment marks a groundbreaking advancement in cancer care and has the potential to benefit patients across our markets. As the only healthcare provider in Asia to be part of this Alliance, we are proud to lead the way in improving patient care, access, and experience.” Elizabeth Han, Group Head of Innovation and Transformation, IHH Healthcare.
This Alliance to progress the adoption of upright photon therapy aligns with IHH Healthcare’s commitment to deliver quality care and clinical excellence for patients by investing into cutting-edge innovation. It also reinforces the Group’s leadership in delivering cutting-edge cancer treatments, having been the first private healthcare provider in the region to offer proton therapy in 2023, and the first in South Asia to offer Gamma Knife Esprit treatment for brain tumours this year.
The formation of the consortium was announced during the annual meeting of ASTRO, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, held in Washington D.C., USA, on 29 September.
“The Upright Photon Alliance is breaking down barriers of access to high quality radiation therapy by challenging the very fundamentals of modern treatment delivery to create a platform capable of sustainable innovation. Leo Cancer Care’s vision was always to extend the benefits of upright treatment to patients across the globe and this vision becomes a reality through partnership with IHH Healthcare. I am incredibly excited to see the breadth of expertise and global reach in the partners that have come together in this Alliance to deliver on the same mission.” Stephen Towe, Chief Executive Officer, Leo Cancer Care.
