[FUNDING NEWS] Singapore-Based K-ID Raises $45 Million In Series A Round Funding

A USD 45 million Series A fundraising round has been announced by k-ID, a Singaporean firm that offers kids and teens a cross-platform fast sign-on solution. Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Lightspeed Venture Partners co-led the round, with additional funding from Z Venture Capital (LY Corporation), Konvoy, Tirta, and Okta.

With the conclusion of this round, k-ID has received USD 51 million in fundraising overall. The k-ID platform makes online safety and privacy management easier for parents, kids, teens, and game developers.

According to Jonathan Lai, general partner of a16z, “kids today make friends and countless memories inside games and virtual worlds, and parents need modern tools to keep them safe.” In addition to meeting this need, it is creating a new industry standard for the safety of digital adolescents.

It is a cross-platform instant sign-on solution for kids and teens that was founded by Kieran Donovan, Timothy Ma, Jeff Wu, and Julian Corbett as a solution to the challenging problem of privacy and online safety for young gamers on a worldwide scale.

The games and online experiences that hundreds of millions of children and teenagers play every day throughout the globe are represented by game publishers that have integrated k-ID. These experiences include well-known titles from some of the biggest public and private gaming firms in the world.

k-ID also announced a relationship with the ESRB Privacy Certified program, extending its industry affiliation and assistance. Through this collaboration, game publishers will have the opportunity to use k-ID technology to assist in obtaining the ESRB Privacy Certified Kids Seal.
